ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 

·         Participated on a three-man team, which reduced a customer’s tubing scrap from 8/10% to less than 2% while improving our heat-treating productivity on this tubing three fold.

 

·         Coordinated the design, equipment build and installation, start-up, and operation of a fully automated precision forge line worth $5.5M for powder metal forged parts.

 

·         Participated as part of a two man technical team, which worked with the Sales Department to increase sales of steel bars to transplant companies from 4,000 tons/year to over 60,000 tons/year in a three-year period.

 

·         Functioned as company representative on industrial committees, which re-wrote several major steel industrial standards including ASTM Specification E381 (Macroetching), ASTM specification E45 (Inclusions), and the A.I.S.I. Bar Products Manual.

 

·         Participated as part of a two man technical team, which introduced new high strength spring steel grades to the automotive spring manufacturers that both increased strength and reduced weight of coil springs.  These grades are now used for coil springs in many American and foreign automobiles produced in the U.S.

Customer Technical Service Engineer

 

§         Act as technical liaison between the company and customers in my territory (Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee). 

§         The duties include communications of technical issues, customer complaints, corrective actions, writing and tracking setup letters, monthly customer statistics, new process/product development projects, customer presentations, technical assistance to customers to improve their process, participate in the APQP process, promote new business opportunities, and understand the overall marketplace.

§         Customer base is mainly transplant companies (Japanese and German).  Main customer is Honda and their suppliers for crankshafts, gears, shafts, and suspension springs.

·         Responsible for Outside/Inside Sales for 25 customers ~$58M in Sales – travel <10% of time.
